A Seville family has spared no expense and gone all out with their Christmas festive decorations. Even Bluey has made an appearance.

A Seville couple have gone full National Lampoons and taken their Christmas decorations to the next level.

At a time when COVID restrictions have eased and families are looking for some festive joy Jessica and Daniel Travers have really brought the light to Britton Rd.

The tradition started when the young family of five moved into their home in 2015 and started with just a few solar lights.

Now five years later the family’s brick home is covered in fairy lights, with blow up Santa, reindeer, and glorious festive tunnel and characters from the popular children’s show Bluey – just to name a few.

But the Travers family have been trying to bring joy to Yarra Valley families all year after lighting up their house in fairy lights to lift spirits at the start of the pandemic in March.

Mrs Travers said her three young children Hollie, seven, Tyler, five, and Jai, one, all love the decorations and proudly tell their friends.

“This year we have a tunnel,” she said.

“I’d seen then on an American Christmas page and I said to my husband, “I want this.”

The arched tunnel runs along the Travers’ driveway and the PVC piping is joined by coloured and white fairy lights.

“It looks amazing,” she said.

She said Friday and Saturday nights were very busy with lots of families coming by to gaze at the festive decorations.

And this year the couple has teamed up with Dave from Clarke’s Ice Cream, who will be serving the desserts on weekends and hot days out of his food truck.

The family are opening donations for the third year running and hope to increase the amount they can give to The Starlight Foundation from $500 last year to $1000 or more this year.

Mrs Travers said donations were not compulsory.

“We’re not expecting donations as it’s been a tough year for everyone,” Mrs Travers said.

“There are those who can’t afford to take their kids out for dinner but they can bring their kids here to see the lights.”
