Boronia’s The Dog Cafe up for sale

IF you’re looking for a unique business opportunity in Melbourne’s outer east, this could be it.

IF you’re looking for a unique and paw-some business opportunity, this could be it.

It’s only been open a few months, but Boronia’s The Dog Cafe is already up for sale.

Owner Michelle Warren said she couldn’t put the time into running the cafe, which is at the rear of her dog-grooming business on Boronia Rd.

The Dog Cafe offers dog weddings, ‘barkday’ parties and a special menu just for pooches

“I can’t work seven days a week at my age,” Ms Warren said.

“It’s a great little business, and it needs someone to take over that can work at it.”

The cafe is popular for its swimming pools, sandpit and movie room — all for dogs.

She said it came with all the furniture, including a shipping container, and rent was cheap at about $200 a week.

“It has great parking and access and a good client base,” Ms Warren said.

But she said the new owner had to be a “dog person”.

“They’ve got to understand dogs needs and be able to read their body language,” she said.

The cafe was also known for its “barkday” parties, and Ms Warren said the buyer could choose whether they wanted to continue the service.

For inquiries about the cafe, which is at 120 Boronia Rd, phone 0411 140 290.
