A good Samaritan who rescued a woman allegedly being robbed at an undercover Boronia carpark is being urged by police to come forward.
Knox detective Sergeant Daniel Taylor said the woman was getting into her car, parked at the Boronia Junction shopping centre on Erica Ave, when police believe a man allegedly grabbed her around the neck at 1.30pm on Saturday, June 15.
Sgt Taylor said police understand the woman went to get into the drivers’ seat when she was grabbed around the neck by a man who demanded the car keys.
He said there is believed to be a second offender — a woman standing watch.
Sgt Taylor said a witness nearby yelled at the alleged attacker to “get off her”, before the pair fled.

He said the witness went to see if the woman was OK, but left shortly after.
“We’re trying to identify the witness, who was reluctant to hang around, but helped the lady,” Sgt Taylor said.
“He’s greatly assisted the victim and he’s not in any trouble but we’d like him to contact us.”
Sgt Taylor said a Croydon man, 46 and woman, 45, had been arrested and charged with attempted robbery.
The pair have been bailed to appear at the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on November 6.
