Boronia building fire: Suspicious fire at Souvlaki GR Dorset Road Boronia

The cause of a fire that tore through a Boronia souvlaki store early Monday morning is being treated as suspicious.

A fire that caused significant damage to a Boronia souvlaki store is being treated as suspicious.

Firefighters were called to the blaze at Souvlaki GR on Dorset Rd just after 7am Monday.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said the fire caused significant damage to the property when it caught alight just after 7am.

There was no one inside the premises at the time of the incident.

At this stage, the fire is being treated as suspicious and an investigation is ongoing.

Dorset Rd, between Chandler Rd and Boronia Rd, was shut to traffic about 7.30am Monday after the fire erupted inside the shop.

The road has now reopened.

Fire Rescue Victoria crews were called to the shop at 6.52am to find a fire in the rear room of the business, which was brought under control by 7.26am.
