Bomb squad Ferntree Gully: Man charged after explosive devices allegedly found in Anderson Street
A man is facing multiple charges after improvised explosive devices were allegedly discovered at a Ferntree Gully property, with the bomb squad called to the scene.

A man has been charged with multiple offences after a number of improvised explosive devices were allegedly discovered at a Ferntree Gully house.
Officers from the bomb response unit were called to investigate a suspicious device in Anderson St last Friday, July 8, with neighbours told to stay indoors.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said officers from the illicit firearms squad attended an address in the street about 5pm last Thursday, July 7 to execute a warrant, when suspect devices were allegedly found during the search.
Officers from the bomb response unit attended to assess the situation, which was later deemed safe.
A short loud bang was heard coming from the property about 1.20pm on Friday.
A 34-year-old Ferntree Gully man has been charged with a range of offences, including manufacture explosives, possess explosives, possess unregistered firearms, possess distress signals without reasonable excuse, possess ammunition without a licence and possess drugs of dependence (methylamphetamine and psilocybin).
He was bailed to appear at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on August 13.
Police allegedly seized three pipe bombs, a range of explosives, three handguns, multiple other firearm parts and a cache of other prohibited weapons including swords, ninja stars and tasers.
The investigation started after the detection of an imitation firearm at the border by the Australian Border Force.
