Bayswater’s The Hatter and the Hare is a standout favourite for anyone living in or near Bayswater.

Opening in March 2017, the Scoresby Rd cafe, patisserie and event venue all rolled into one, has something for everyone and is an experience best shared with friends and family.

Walking through the door your eyes are instantly drawn to the colourful cakes and desserts that line the displays.

The unique, Alice-in-Wonderland-themed seasonal menu offers a wide array of breakfast, brunch, lunch and afternoon tea options to suit a sweet or savoury palette.

From the impressive breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes to the sweet treats with more than 100 varieties whipped up by a team of skilled patisserie chefs you will be in heaven.

Director Becky Buada said the summer menu had recently been released and was very popular.

“It’s the most popular menu we’ve had so far since opening four years ago,” Ms Buada said.

“Our head chef has included more options for lunch so it’s not so limited to breakfast items.”

She said the venue would soon be starting it’s impressive high tea offerings again.

Ms Buada said two favourites that were flying off the menu was the Benedictine Adventure — a twist on eggs benedict — which has poached eggs on house made English muffins with pear chutney, grilled pork belly, pork and black pudding crumb, truffle hollandaise, charred asparagus and blistered cherry tomatoes.

While the White Kings Toastie is filled with roast chicken thigh fillet, with bacon and sage brioche stuffing, mozzarella cheese, aioli in white bread toasted in duck fat, served with fries, and beef and sage jus.

And the seasonal cakes have also been popular, she said.

“The mango and chai is not the usual components you find in a cake,” Ms Buada said.

“We also have a really nice orange and mango panna cotta, which is really fruity but not too sweet.

“All our desserts are not overly sweet or rich which means you can finish what you order, or share with someone else.”

You can find The Hatter and the Hare at 1/21 Scoresby Rd, Bayswater.
