A Melbourne show rider who allegedly sent dodgy legal letters by a phony law firm she created herself to equine industry figures has beamed into court from an office adorned with equine competition ribbons.

Belgrave South show rider Kerri Imrie, 57, appeared before the Melbourne Magistrates Court via video link on Friday afternoon for a committal mention.

Ms Imrie is facing 12 charges that relate to her alleged stalking, using technology and “false documents” to “incite fear and anxiety to the receiver”.

The Herald Sun previously revealed Ms Imrie allegedly sent the five letters of demand after she competed at the Croydon Agricultural Show held at Yarra Glen on February 2.

Ms Imrie was awarded second place in the horse riding show before she took to Facebook where she appeared to accuse the judge and winner of being too close.

“At what point as competitors does our moral compass kick in, where we say ‘the connection is too close, I won’t compete under that judge.’ Seriously? The chatter outside the ring was rife but no one wanted to say anything,” Ms Imrie allegedly posted after the event.
“So I am sticking my head out here and speaking up.”

Ms Imrie is then accused of calling a number of industry figures, claiming to have been preparing legal action against those who criticised her.

More than a week later, several legal letters were allegedly served to a number of people which were allegedly under a fake lawyer’s name and law firm.

Those letters accused the recipients of defamation and allegedly ordered them to share a curated apology note and pay more than $9000 in legal costs to Ms Imrie.

Police allege Ms Imrie created the letters and the law firm herself.

In court, her lawyer Tony Hargreaves requested the case be adjourned until next year for a two-day committal hearing.

She will next appear in court on January 29.
