Ambulance rolls after being hit by a car in Clayton

Two paramedics and a patient were injured after a car ran into their ambulance in Clayton, causing it to flip while it was on its way to hospital.

An ambulance carrying a patient rolled onto its side after being hit by a car in Clayton on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Blackburn Rd and Wellington Rd about 1.30pm on February 1 following reports of a collision.

Ambulance Victoria said another ambulance was dispatched to help at the scene and the two paramedics and patient of the rolled vehicle were taken to hospital in a stable condition.

The male driver of the car was also taken to hospital in a stable condition with non life-threatening injuries.

An investigation is ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has dashcam footage, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit an online report.
