A man accused of raping a woman in her eastern suburbs home in November will stay in jail while prosecutors obtain more CCTV.

Samuela Turganivalu, 32, appeared before the Melbourne’s Magistrates Court on Friday.

Mr Turganivalu has been accused of forcing his way into a Lilydale woman’s home at 4.30am on Sunday November 20, 2024.

He was arrested at Melbourne Airport trying to board an international flight days later.

Mr Turganivalu was charged with rape, threats to kill, aggravated burglary, intentionally cause injury and criminal damage.

His case was adjourned until March 23.
