A $4m Gilderoy property complete with its own private lake — one of the largest of its kind in the state — has hit the market in the Yarra Ranges.
The 121ha property, named Lake Muratore, features a four bedroom home, 20 holiday cabin units, and it has one of the largest privately owned freshwater lakes in Victoria.
The main residence is a four bedroom, two bathroom home with a double lock up garage.
The listing heralds the 20 holiday units on the property as a “grand opportunity” for accommodation for future events headed to the Yarra Ranges.
There are eight self contained units, including two with a spa, six double bed units, and a kiosk area.
The home and the units were described as needing attention and a redesign.
“The property presents a unique opportunity to develop a lucrative lifestyle and business venture,” the listing read.
Lake Muratore sits at the foothills of Mt. Beenak, 75km out of Melbourne and a one hour drive from snowfields.
“It is ideal for a variety of recreational activities, the lake supports swimming, canoeing, sailing, paddle boating, and bushwalking,” the listing reads.
“Its banks are perfect for family picnics and outdoor gatherings or even a regatta.”
It will also be close to the Warburton Mountain Bike Destination trails when construction on the major project is complete.
Construction of 100km of trails for the first stage of the project began in August and the first trails are expected to open in the first half of 2024.
The asking price for the property is between $3.9m to $4.2m.
