A young child has died after drowning inside a septic pit on a residential property in a regional Victorian town.
Police reported that emergency services were called to William St in Wallan at 1.50pm on March 19 following reports of a child being pulled from a septic pit.
Paramedics tried to revive the child but were unsuccessful.
It is believed the child was a five-year-old boy.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner and continue to investigate the incident.
