The annual Whittlesea Show has started with a bang this weekend, promising to again bring the fun of the country to the city.
The 164th Whittlesea Show is being held at the Whittlesea Showgrounds this Saturday and Sunday with lots of family friendly activities and country fun on offer.
It is one of Victoria’s oldest and most popular annual shows with animal entertainment, live music and children’s shows among the entertainment on offer.
Acting Chair Administrator Peita Duncan said the City of Whittlesea was pleased to be supporting the community tradition again this year as a major sponsor.
“The Whittlesea Agricultural Society is one of the oldest agricultural societies in Victoria and the two-day annual show is a highlight in the local calendar,” Ms Duncan said.
“Not only will it showcase agriculture, farming and rural knowledge to the wider community, this year’s show offers attractions and activities for everyone.”
The line-up of activities includes Eroni’s Circus, Stilt Divas, roving performers, show jumping, and much more.
There will be lots of delicious goodies up from grabs at the Food Expo or visitors can be transported back in time at the Heritage Pavilion where historic farming practices and blacksmith demonstrations will be held.
