Vandals target Eltham state Liberal candidate Steven Briffa’s car

VANDALS are targeting Eltham state Liberal election candidate and Banyule councillor Steven Briffa’s car, even smearing dog poo on the tow ball.

BANYULE councillor and Eltham state Liberal election candidate Steven Briffa has had his car and office vandalised.

Banyule police are investigating reports of repeated damage to Cr Briffa’s car.

Detective Senior Sergeant Kevin O’Connell said the councillor filed a report alleging political harassment on September 17.

Sen-Sgt O’Connell said the Cr Briffa’s car — a four-wheel-drive covered in a Liberal campaign advertisement — had been dinted, scratched and dog poo smeared on the tow ball.

Police have confirmed they are also investigating damage to Cr Briffa’s workplace.

Cr Briffa did not want to comment.
