South Melbourne rascal mechanic and BMX bandit Dakoda Hart charged with stealing BMW

A Melbourne amateur daredevil allegedly up to no good has been slotted inside on a $50,000 BMW theft charge.

A northern suburbs mechanic is behind bars after he was allegedly nabbed boosting a $50,000 beamer.

Dakoda Hart, 23, fronted Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Thursday charged with motor theft.

It’s alleged Hart stole a grey 2016 BMW Z4 from a Viewbank property on February 25 this year.

According to a charge laid by the Heidelberg Crime Investigation Unit, the BMW was valued at $50,000.

Hart, a mechanic, was also charged with driving while disqualified at Lalor on February 25.

Hart, who was remanded for the alleged offending, was barely phased when told his next court date was weeks away.

Hart, now of South Melbourne, is well known around Melbourne northern’s suburbs.

The amateur daredevil showed off his BMX skills to promote a national skate competition which toured Epping several years ago.

Hart, who made no application for bail, will front court again at a later date.
