Preston Market celebrating Father’s Day with family businesses
Father’s Day might be a day to celebrate dad’s cheesy jokes but for this family delicatessen, dairy is a serious business. The 18-year-old shop is one of many stores run by father-child teams gearing up to celebrate the special day at Preston Market.

For the long-serving staff at Preston Market’s Farrinaci Deli, every day is father’s day.
Except for the first Sunday in September.
“I don’t work on Sundays — Sundays I go to church,” owner Pino Farrinaci said.
Daughter Josie and son Anthony will man the fort while dad is away, as they’ve been doing since it opened 18 years ago.
The pair, along with mum, helped their father open the deli with a simple plan — to provide quality produce with family-friendly service.
“I love working with my family,” Pino Farrinaci said.
“We’re a family business. As a family we face many hardships but we get through it together.”
“I can’t ask for it to be any better.”
Josie Farrinaci said they supported each other every day and were always creating memories.
Anthony Farrinaci said working together was important to all of them.
“We all have a special bond and it’s the glue that holds our family together,” he said.
While they won’t work together on September 1, the Farrinaci clan will celebrate Father’s Day with a special dinner.
Preston Market is full of generational stores — at least eight — such as Haydn Chiron and son Sunny at Rhubarb Rhubarb Organics.
Sam & Sons owner Sam Virgona has worked with sons Rob and Mark since they were 14-years-old.
