The lights will stay switched on during Brunswick Secondary College’s twilight market thanks to a Leader Local Grant.
The market will be boosted by a $1000 grant after it was voted as the best local idea.
The market has run at the Dawson St school every year since 2014.
Brunswick Secondary teacher Barbara Moss said it was fully organised by students, with leaders tasked to find and help set up stall holders.
The grant will be used on lighting, signs, portable tables and other preparation to be used at future markets down the track.
This year’s edition of the market will be held at the school from 5pm on October 18.
The Leader has given more than $313,000 to community projects since the program started in 2012.
This year there were 325 applications and more than 65,800 reader votes cast.
