PAY attention wine lovers, Melbourne’s cheapest wine seller is at it again.
Cheapa Wines owner Sam Bongiovanni is back with a bargain, selling a 2010 Grampians shiraz for $2.99 a bottle.
And for anyone who prefers their bottles of red adorned with gold medals, Mr Bongiovanni has some wise words.
“We don’t sell cheap wine, we sell good wine, cheap,” he said.

Cheapa Wines got national attention last year when it sold a First Cape white wine for 99 cents a bottle and Mr Bongiovanni said he still had customers asking for that bargain.
The stall sells a lot of reds, but also stocks white wine, liqueurs and beers for cheap, including an amber ale for $12 a six-pack.
Mr Bongiovanni said despite buying more than 40,000 bottles of the shiraz, he expected it to last only a month and all shoppers were encouraged to get in quick.
“There’s no limit, but it’s first in, best dressed,” he said.
The 40-year veteran of the wine industry has been at Preston Market for two years and has no plans of moving any time soon.
“We try to be different, it’s the only way we survive,” Mr Bongiovanni said.
The wine hits the shelves today.
