Nawel Taha to take personal training to women of the world

A month after winning Melbourne’s best personal trainer award, a Glenroy fitness expert has revealed her “major plans” for 2020 as she continues to win clients by coaching “from a total health perspective, not just how someone looks, but how they feel”.

Nawel Taha says winning the Leader’s best personal trainer award has helped change the lives of women around the globe.

Body by Nawel has been operating for about five years, but Ms Taha said since claiming the nod as Melbourne’s best trainer she had noticed more people getting in touch with her, whether it was to train in person or through her online offering.

Ms Taha is an Australian-born Muslim whose parents migrated from Lebanon, and her goal is not only to change the way women look, but improve their mental health.

“I coach from a total health perspective, not just how someone looks, but how they feel,” Ms Taha said.

“I try and mix indoor sessions with outdoor sessions because you can’t compare training in nature, it’s an automatic endorphin release.

“A lot of women use different things for anxiety and depression, but after they have trained they feel better.”

Operating from her home studio in Glenroy, as well as halls at Belle Vue Park Primary and Fawkner Leisure Centre, Ms Taha has just started new sessions at Jack Roper Reserve.

Body By Nawel offers personal training, group fitness sessions, nutrition coaching and her most popular program, the T42 body challenge.

Ms Taha started the challenge five years ago with 10 women, but said she now has 200 signed up for the latest 42-day program.

The secret to her success is being genuine, caring about her clients and having a strong relationship with them, she said.

“I also keep improving my programs and keep up to date with industry trends,” she said.

Ms Taha said she had major plans for 2020 and wanted to grow her clientele interstate and internationally.

“I offer T42 online and it would be great to globally get all women fitter, healthier and stronger,” she said.

When Ms Taha was named as Melbourne’s best personal trainer she said she was overwhelmed and “incredibly surprised”.

“I am so thankful to everyone who voted for me, all my clients and friends and family, they are wonderful,” she said.

“So many people contacted me with texts and messages to congratulate me, it was really nice.”

Ms Taha’s teenage daughters even got involved in her latest T42 program which has just started, something she said was a great thrill.

She said it had not come easily though, and had worked seven-day weeks since starting her business.
