TWO Montmorency Primary School teachers are taking Australia by storm with their popular cartoon duo Pevan and Sarah.

Teachers Sarah and Manny Kechayas, who were also Victorian College of the Arts graduates, are the masterminds behind the creative concept.

Pevan the cuddly tiger and Sarah the pocket-rocket first burst onto the scene in 2014.

Mr Kechayas said the aim was to create a collection of songs and videos that helped students understand key life lessons. Videos include Bath Time, The Tidy Up Song and It’s Okay to Make Mistakes.

“It’s the little catch phrases, such as ‘you get what you get and you don’t get upset’, that we’re trying to push to these kids to build resilience which has been really successful,” he said

“But it’s also about getting up and having fun dancing too.”

The pair have performed all over the country at events such as the St Kilda Festival, Motor City Music Festival, Royal Children’s Hospital, Luna Park and a residency on Hamilton Island.

But on October 9 they’ll launch their second album called The Tiger Tail at Eltham High School from 11am.
