A man has handed himself in after police launched an appeal for information about an alleged sexual assault in Mickleham.
The Mickleham man, 32, went to a police station on Thursday evening after detectives released images of a person of interest.
Leading Senior Constable Melissa Seach said no charges had been laid yet and the investigation was continuing.
Fawkner Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives were told the victim, a 25-year-old Brunswick woman and her friend, met up with two men at a nightclub on Johnstone St in Brunswick on June 2 this year.

After leaving the nightclub the quartet went to an address in Fitzroy and then attended St Vincent’s Hospital after the victim’s friend suffered an unrelated medical episode.
“The victim and one of the men left the hospital and travelled to a house in Mickleham where the victim has told investigators she was sexually assaulted,” police spokeswoman Creina O’Grady said.
Police said they were no longer seeking assistance to identify the man pictured in the appeal for information.
