A homeless man has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury after a man was allegedly shot in the foot during a dispute in Epping.
Armed Crime Squad detectives arrested a 35-year-old man on Friday night following a shooting in the early hours of the same day in a carpark behind a shopping strip on High St near Rufus St.
Acting Sergeant Natalie Dean said the man, who is from no fixed address, had since been charged with intentionally causing serious injury, recklessly causing serious injury, drugs and firearms offences.
He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.

The victim, a 37-year-old Epping man, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Northern Hospital by paramedics in a serious but stable condition.
A Northern Health spokeswoman said the man remained in hospital in a stable condition on Wednesday.
Assistant Commissioner Luke Cornelius said on Friday the victim was not assisting police.
“We’d be very keen for victims to help us,” he said.

The incident was less than 500m away from the Pacific Epping shopping centre where a day earlier three hooded bandits raided the Angus & Coote jewellery store as terrified customers and staff retreated into nearby retailers.
Sgt Dean said the investigation was continuing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
