A man went to join a woman and her boyfriend in the bedroom. Little did he know, he’d be paying for the fun with his car, phone and wallet.

Hayley Terei has been jailed for two months.

A swinger mum and her boyfriend conspired to steal a man’s car, barricading him inside a house, after he came over and joined them in the bedroom.

Hayley Terei, 29, was sentenced to two months’ jail and a 12-month corrections order at the Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court on December 11, having pleaded guilty to charges including three theft of motor vehicles.

The mother-of-four and her then boyfriend stole the victim’s car immediately after they met him and engaged in sexual activity with him in the early hours of December 13, 2019.

They had invited the man, who they’d connected with on dating application Aussie Swingers, to a Meadow Heights house where Terei’s boyfriend was staying.

He arrived about 1am and the three participated in sexual activity before Terei went to shower.

She called out for a towel, and her boyfriend left the room, leaving the man alone.

Minutes later he heard his car start in the driveway, then found the front door of the house had been barricaded with timber.

By the time he removed the timber the couple had fled with the car, which also contained his phone, wallet and house keys.

Weeks earlier the pair had stolen a car belonging to a woman they’d met at Thomastown sex store Club-X.

The woman picked them up from McDonalds about 3am on November 20, 2019 and took them back to her house to hang out.

When she was later about to drive them to buy cigarettes, Terei’s boyfriend said he’d left something in the house, and the woman took her car keys and went to get it, leaving the couple in her car.

She returned to find the car and her new friends nowhere to be found.

The pair were then found with a stolen Mercedes at a Glenroy property on December 30, 2019, which police were called to over reports of squatters.

Terei also faced charges for driving while disqualified in June 2019, May 2020 and on December 7.

The court heard the Heidelberg West mum had been an ice user, but had reportedly only been using cannabis in the past six months.

It was heard she had grappled with a lack of stability throughout her life, including homelessness at time, and had previously served jail terms for car thefts.

Magistrate Stephen Ballek noted she had already served four days of her two-month jail sentence and suspended her driver’s licence for nine months.
