Greenvale’s Woodlands Historic Homestead home to Phar Lap collection

Those passionate about all things equestrian have got more things to enjoy in Hume with the new Phar Lap memorabilia open at the Woodlands Historic Homestead.
The Greenvale homestead is one of the oldest built structures in Hume, with construction dating back to 1842.
It is also home to Living Legends, established to allow the public a view of retired champion horses such as Efficient, Might and Power, Fields of Omagh, Rogan Josh and Brew.
The new Phar Lap memorabilia at the homestead includes the legendary horse’s bridle and shoes.
Phar Lap won 37 races from 51 starts, including the 1930 Melbourne Cup.

Hume Mayor Carly Moore said Woodlands Historic Homestead and surrounding grounds were just one example of a place the whole family could enjoy.
“We are very privileged our residents and visitors have the opportunity to meet the many distinguished racehorses living right here in Hume, while experiencing an amazing piece of our history,” Cr Moore said.
“The new Phar Lap memorabilia is a wonderful addition to the collection currently on display.”
