Thirty firefighters were called upon to “aggressively attack” a garage fire in Meadow Heights.

Emergency services received multiple triple-0 calls on Wednesday about 1.36pm after neighbours in Dartmoor Court noticed heavy smoke coming from a home’s double-door garage.

According to a Fire Rescue Victoria spokesman, firefighters arrived at the scene in less than seven minutes after being alerted.

FRV Commander Joel Dare said crews were forced to use breathing apparatus to attack the fire from inside the garage.

“We are currently conducting an aggressive internal attack to bring the fire under control,” the spokesman said.

FRV will remain on the scene to ensure the fire is under control.

Paramedics also attended the fire in Meadow Heights although there were no patients.

A Victoria Police spokesman said the cause of the fire was not being treated as suspicious.
