A motorbike rider has been arrested after he allegedly lit a rag on fire and threw it at a driver following a road rage incident in Epping.
Police arrested a 35-year-old man at a home in Narina Way, Epping on Friday morning following the alleged incident on Thursday night, which led to the victim being taken to hospital with serious burns.
Officers understand the motorbike rider and the driver, a 19-year-old Lalor man, collided on the street about 8pm on Thursday.
Following the crash, the rider allegedly followed the driver to a house on Aranda Place, and threw flammable liquid on the victim and his car.
He then allegedly lit a rag and threw it at the driver as he got out of his car, which caused the car and his clothing to catch fire.
The man was taken to hospital and is continuing to receive treatment this morning.
