The much-loved Eltham North Adventure Playground will reopen next Wednesday, just in time for the school holidays.
It’s been made possible by more than 100 local residents, and a community blitz to plant trees, lay mulch, paint cubbyhouses and do much more.
The playground, established in Wattletree Rd in 1995, was destroyed by fire in December 2017 in an incident still being investigated by police.
Nillumbik Mayor Karen Egan said she was looking forward to cutting the ribbon at the event.
“The people of Nillumbik were devastated when the original playground was destroyed,” Cr Egan said.

“We have worked closely with the community to rebuild this important Eltham landmark,” she said.
“This is a world class playground, which caters to children of all ages and abilities.”
The new playground includes unique wooden structure with tunnels, “hidey holes” and slides.
“Many themes from the previous designs are threaded through this structure, there is even a tractor in the centre,” Cr Egan said.
“In the surrounding play space, there are swing sets, cubby houses and a flying fox,” Cr Egan said.
More work will be undertaken on the play space through 2019, including additional landscaping projects, and the community will again be invited to participate in building, she said.
