Hume has a homegrown sporting champion who has been named Spalding’s first ever female basketball ambassador.
Towering Craigieburn talent Ezi Magbegor is gearing up to play in the WNBA for Seattle Storm in America.
“2020 has been a huge year for me and I couldn’t be happier to have the Spalding team in my corner,” Magbegor said.
One of the superstar’s earliest memories was shooting hoops in her backyard.
“I’ve grown up with Spalding my entire life, it feels so surreal to be joining forced with such an iconic brand,” she said.
Magbegor made her international debut at the 2015 FIBA Under-19 World Championships when she was just 15.
At 17 she nabbed a gold medal with the Under-17 Sapphires at the World Cup.
Magbegor will join a two-year ambassadorship for Spalding along with fellow basketballers Matthew Dellavedova, Damian Lillard and DeMar DeRozan.

Spalding marketing director Naomi Maclean said she was thrilled with the partnership.
“The Opals have such a rich history in basketball and female participation is so strong locally in the game, Ezi is an important addition to our team,” Ms Maclean said.
The 20 year old has played with the Melbourne Boomers in the WNBL and is also a member of the Australian National Team, the Opals.
