Community rallies around pregnant mother Isabel Robinson after she suffered brain aneurysm in shower

A heavily pregnant mother who suffered a brain aneurysm in the shower may have had her life saved by her young toddler who decided to open the bathroom door only moments after she collapsed.

A pregnant mum is lucky to be alive after her toddler found her slumped over and unconscious in the bathroom having had a brain aneurysm.

Isabel Robinson, who hails from Ecuador, is currently in intensive care after collapsing earlier this week.

Ms Robinson was rushed to hospital, and received surgery, and is currently in a stable condition in intensive care.

“The only reason Reece (Ms Robinson’s husband) even found her in the shower is because their toddler decided that would be a good time to open a door for the first time,” friend Emily said.

“So he just happened to be walking upstairs and saw the toddler in the bathroom and Isabel passed out.”

Isabel Robinson is about to give birth to her second child.

Emily has organised a GoFundMe page to help support Isabel, her husband Reece and their young family.

The fundraiser aims to raise money to cover expenses such as food, rent and bills.

Mr Robinson currently has no paid leave so any money raised would help him take time off work to care for Isabel and their young toddler.

The initial goal of the GoFundMe was $15,000 but Emily has been overwhelmed by the support, with nearly $14,000 donated already.

“I’ll keep changing the goal”, Emily said, with 196 donations already.

Ms Robinson’s family are hoping to fly to Melbourne from Ecuador to support Isabel.
