A search has ramped up to find the driver of a car involved in an alleged hit-run in Melbourne’s north, which led to a skateboarder landing on the bonnet and suffering serious injuries.
Police have released CCTV footage of the car which could have been involved in the incident, which took place in Brunswick about 9.50pm on January 18.
The short video shows a white car following the 21-year-old skateboarder from Brunswick West along Victoria St, near Melville Rd.
Investigators have been told the man heard a car approach him from behind before the car accelerated and hit him, causing him to land on the bonnet.
He was dragged for about 20m before he fell off the car and onto the road.
The driver of the car, believed to be an early 2000s Nissan Pulsar, did not stop at the scene.
The skateboarder was taken to hospital with serious injuries and later released, but is still recovering from a broken ankle and wrist.
Anyone who recognises the car or has information on the incident can phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
