An accused gunman who allegedly opened fire on a heavyweight Hells Angel bikie has been slapped with more charges.
Kader Elhouli, 36, fronted the Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on November 18 charged with handling stolen goods, possessing a firearm illegally and possessing drugs of dependence including cocaine and GHB.
One of the stolen goods Mr Elhouli was allegedly in possession of was an allegedly stolen Saudi Arabian passport.
The alleged bikie shooter was also in possession of information he was accused of planning to use illegally.
Mr Elhouli, who appeared via video link from the Melbourne Remand Centre was charged by Echo Taskforce detectives on March 8, 2023.
Mr Elhouli told the court he was making an application to adjourn the matters until his other matter is finalised.
“Get them adjourned until my bigger matter is finished your honour,” Mr Elhouli told the court.
The bigger matter in question relates to the alleged shooting of top Hells Angel bikie Peter Hewat in July last year.
Police allege Mr Elhouli was in possession of an AR15 assault rifle, a WWII Thompson submachine gun and a handgun at the time he confronted Hewat on a suburban street in Melbourne’s outer fringe.
When it was announced to the court the media interest in Mr Elhouli’s matter, he queried why the media was interested in the matter.
“Why’s the media interested in this?” he asked the court.
Magistrate Stella Stuthridge told Mr Elhouli she was not sure and granted his adjournment request.
Mr Elhouli will return to the Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on December 12.
