Golf course manager Michael McKay said the development would be a major drawcard for the area.

“Our events in recent years have allowed young families the opportunity to come together and socialise in their backyard,” he said.

“We can’t wait to bring even more inclusive entertainment options to everyone in Melbourne’s northeast.”

Yarrambat Park Golf Course’s new mini golf course is expected to attract both families and school groups.

Nillumbik Mayor Karen Egan said the mini golf course would include an “educational component”.

“Each mini golf hole will be themed around a native Nillumbik shire animal, providing history and facts about the animals,” she said.

“Both families and school groups will be able to come down for a fun activity and learn about the beautiful native environment unique to the Nillumbik region.

“We are very excited to have an education-based attraction with multiple benefits for our community.”
