A Werribee woman has died after being hit by a car in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, after the car suddenly accelerated forward.

A Werribee woman has died after being hit by a car in a car park in Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
Emergency services attended the scene at High St in Yarraville about 1pm on Sunday.
Police believe a 48-year-old male driver from Werribee was trying to reverse his car into a car park but the car accelerated forward, hitting a 38-year-old woman before crashing into a nearby wall.
The woman was taken to hospital but she died from her injuries.
The man was been released after questioning and police are continuing their investigation.
