A unit fire in Pascoe Vale has seen a smoke alert issued for the community on Thursday morning as over dozen of firefighters try to tame the blaze.

Emergency services received multiple triple-zero calls just after 9am when residents noticed a cloud of smoke from a fire in a unit on Landells Rd in Pascoe Vale.

Emergency services arrived within four minutes, and four trucks attended the fire.

FRV commander Dakis said the event escalated due to the smoke coming from the fire.

“17 firefighters wore breathing apparatus, conducted an internal attack on the unit, and checked attached unites for any fire extension.”

FRV was still working on the scene on Thursday morning, and the community was alerted for excessive smoke.
