Three caravans with a combined value of $200,000 have been stolen from sales yards in Melbourne’s north.
Detectives have released CCTV footage of the November 24 thefts, which shows two men calmly mounting a gutter and driving off towing a Retreat Whitsunday 21OR caravan worth $70,000 in a stolen Toyota Hilux from a business in Campbellfield.
Vans were also stolen from businesses in Epping and Craigieburn.
Police said the pair cut first through a fence to get into a sales yard in Gateway Blvd, Epping about 1.30am where they stole a Jayco Silverline Outback caravan using the Hilux.
Just over an hour later the crooks used power tools to cut through a metal gate at a business in Grasslands Ave, Craigieburn.
Leading Senior Constable Melissa Seach said the men used the same Toyota Hilux to tow away a Leader caravan.
“Later that night, the offenders again used the Hilux to ram a fence at a caravan sales yard on Link Drive in Campbellfield just after 11pm,” she said.
