Omar Elsayegh: Westmeadows dad caught drug dealing twice
A Westmeadows dad who was caught dealing drugs in Preston and freed on bail has shown that not even strict court orders could stop him from returning to the game.

A drug dealing dad was caught back in the game just eight days after he was charged with drug trafficking and bailed.
Omar Elsayegh pleaded guilty to a series of charged and was sentenced to 120 days’ jail and an 18-month community corrections order at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, November 4.
The Westmeadows man was arrested in Preston on July 22, and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and GHB, and possessing MDMA.
He was also caught with $3025, which police suspected to be proceeds of crime, and a weapon.
Elsayegh was released on strict bail conditions, including a ban from leaving the house between 10pm and 6am, which he was found breaching on July 30.
He was also breaching Melbourne’s lockdown curfew, and was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possessing GHB, cannabis and pergabalin.
Elsayegh also had two weapons on him.
The court heard Elsayegh’s life had begun to unravel into a “spiral of drug abuse”, which accompanied the loss of his job, end of his relationship and seeing his children less.
Magistrate Tara Hartnett said the father’s offending and criminal history, which involved him being jailed multiple times for dishonesty and drug crimes, was very concerning.
“Trafficking of any drugs is a serious offence and your position was made more serious because of the second lot of offending while you were on bail for the first lot,” she said.
“This has to be a line in the sand for you. You are not 18.”
Ms Hartnett ordered he complete 100 hours of community work as part of the corrections order and noted he had already served 97 days’ jail.
