A much loved bar in Yarraville has just been given a face lift with all new equipment and vintage inspired furniture.
The Yarra Lounge, off Ballarat St, has recently completed renovations for the first time since the bar opened 12 years ago.
Owner James Scuderi said they had been careful to maintain the original structure of the bar with most of the changes being largely cosmetic.
“It hadn’t been touched for a long time, it was getting a bit tired and it’s a local favourite and needed some love,” he said.
“The overall layout is pretty much the same but it’s all new finishes and all new furniture.”
The eclectic themed bar now includes a feature wall, press for martini button and new six person leather clad booth.
Mr Scuderi said his favourite feature of the renovations was the new resident flamingo.
“The flamingo still needs a name though,” he said.

The lounge is famous for serving up tapas, a Spanish style sharing dish, with a South American and Mediterranean twist.
The most popular dishes have been the patatas bravas, a traditionally Spanish style spicy potato dish with chorizo, and salt and pepper calamari and octopus.
Mr Scuderi said his bar stood out from the rest due to it’s excellent location.
“We’re directly across from the Sun Theatre,” he said.
“We’ve also got one of the more extensive wine and beer lists and we’ve got great staff.”
The renovations took 30 days to complete and also included a paint job and new light fittings.
The Yarra Lounge is open between 4pm and 12am Monday to Friday, 12pm to 12am on Saturday and 12pm to 11pm on Sunday.
