Two musicians from Essendon have just landed a fresh new gig at a global music exchange in London.
Nic Duquemin, 21, and Daniel Vella, 22, each nabbed one of the highly competitive spots at the Nando’s Music Exchange, based on their talent.
The duo left for London on September 9 and will collaborate with other artists from different countries on a new track.
Guitarist and singer Vella said he was “super excited” to have been given the opportunity.
“I was in shock when I found out (I got a place), it’s one of those situations that’s too good to be true but I guess it is true,” he said.
The musician said he couldn’t wait to work with artists with different styles and cultural backgrounds.
“The main thing I want to get out of it is just working with other people and just making some really good art,” Vella said.
Pop soul artist Duquemin, who has been singing for 10 years, said music was one of his biggest passions.
“You wake up and it’s all you think about, that’s all there is for me,” he said.
“Music just brings out the best in myself and allows me to connect with people.”

The artist said it was a nice feeling to finally have all his hard work pay off.
“Investing time and energy into music can be a lot at times and to have something come your way that’s trying to support you through it is really cool,” Duquemin said.
