RANDY teenagers are using parents’ rooms designed for breastfeeding and nappy changes to have sex and hang out, according to mothers.

Parents in Point Cook and Sanctuary Lakes have reported seeing brazen couples — some in school uniform — in the closed cubicles, with one mum even overhearing sex noises while breastfeeding her baby.

The rooms are designed to be a sanctum for parents with babies and young children, and offer change facilities, play rooms and sectioned-off cubicles for breastfeeding.

But some say they refuse to use the facilities after witnessing the shocking behaviour.

“I was breastfeeding my little girl when I heard all these noises coming from the other cubicle,” one woman, who did not want to be named, told Leader.

“I was totally shocked and I don’t know how they think it’s OK.”

One staff member at Sanctuary Lakes said she often heard of teenagers being caught having sex in the parents rooms, and mum Ghen Codeniera said she’d also seen a boy and girl hanging out in school uniform inside the rooms at Stockland Point Cook.

Sanctuary Lakes manager Emily Grass said security was posted near the entry from 3.30pm on weekdays to stop any problems.

She said teens often used the rooms to escape the cold, “microwave chicken nuggets and lasagne” and watch TV, but denied claims of sexual deviance.

“We did have a lady who claimed her five-year-old daughter witnessed someone having sex and wasn’t able to sleep because of it, but we looked at footage and found it was just a cleaner having lunch in a cubicle,” Ms Grass said.

“We do take complaints seriously though and as soon as we notice anyone has gone in, we go in and ask them to leave.

“It’s not the place to be hanging out and I doubt they want to watch people breastfeed anyway.

“Being a parent, there’s nothing worse than the smells caused by their food too.”

Stockland spokeswoman Holly Frendo did not comment on whether people had been caught having sex, but said management did not tolerate any inappropriate or anti-social behaviour.

“Our security team regularly patrols all areas of the shopping centre, including the parenting facilities, as the safety and wellbeing of all our customers is our first priority,” she said.

People who see anything should report it to centre management.
