Man injured in house fire on Barwon St in Taylors Hill, taken to The Alfred
A man has had a lucky escape after his home went up in flames in Taylors Hill, where he suffered upper body injuries.

A man has been injured in a fire at a home in Melbourne’s northwest suburbs.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Barwon St in Taylors Hill at 1.53pm on Monday.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the man, aged in his 30s, was taken to The Alfred in a stable condition with upper body injuries.
An FRV spokesperson said fire crews arrived on scene to find the blaze in an external, garage type area of the home.
FRV and CFA crews wore breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire and the scene was deemed under control at 2.06pm.
“There was slight fire extension into timbers of the roof space, and a council building surveyor was requested to attend and assess the structural integrity,” the FRV spokesperson said
The scene was handed back to the property owner.
A police spokesperson said the fire was not being treated as suspicious.
