Sunshine Magistrates’ Court: West Footscray’s Rachael Fulton charged after string of burglaries in Melbourne’s northwest

A woman who allegedly broke into six homes across Melbourne’s northwest during a two-month crime spree, stealing $100,000 worth of jewels, has faced court.

The woman who allegedly amassed $100,000 worth of jewellery after a string of burglaries across the northwestern suburbs has fronted court.

Police allege Rachael Fulton broke into six properties across Burnside Heights, St Albans, Essendon and Point Cook over July and August.

The West Footscray woman allegedly stole about $100,000 worth of items after a string of burglaries.

A large amount of jewellery, including wedding rings and sentimental items, were allegedly stolen in Cairnlea on August 12.

Two days later, police intercepted an allegedly stolen car at Laverton where they discovered the alleged stolen items.

The 32-year-old was charged with four counts of theft, five counts of burglary, attempted aggravated burglary, attempted burglary, obtain property by deception, two counts of handle stolen goods, possess a drug of dependence, drive while disqualified and two counts of theft of a car.

She was remanded to appear at Sunshine Magistrates’ Court.

On Tuesday, Ms Fulton briefly appeared at court via video link, as did her mother, before the matter was adjourned to October 11.

There was no bail application.
