MORE than 1000 people have shared their vision for Jacksons Hill, calling for its historic values to be preserved and for it to become a vibrant asset in Sunbury.
The desires and wishes for the site are detailed in the Victoria Planning Authority’s release of the Jacksons Hill Master Plan Community Engagement Report at 3pm today.
Submissions foe the site’s masterplan included recognition of Aboriginal and post-contact heritage, a new connection to the site from The Heights and better pedestrian, parking and public transport links.

JACKSONS HILL TO RETAIN COMMUNITY FOCUS
Potential future uses suggested by submitters include education and training, arts and culture and short-term education opportunities.
State Planning Minister Richard Wynne said it was “important the community has its say over the future direction of what is an iconic part of Sunbury.
“We’ve listened, and now we’ll put together a draft master plan with those views in mind.
“This is all about protecting and enhancing all that locals love about Jacksons Hill.”
Sunbury state Labor MP Josh Bull said Jacksons Hill had huge potential.
“We want it to be a hub Sunbury locals of all ages can enjoy, which is why we’re ensuring everyone has a chance to have their say,” he said.
The next stage of the investigation is a draft master plan due to be released later this year.
It follows similar community consultation and report into the Sunbury South and Lancefield Rd Precinct Structure Plans.
A directions hearing on those plans will be held at Spring St on Thursday, July 1.
The hearing will consider procedural issues and give directions about its conduct including the exchange of expert witness reports and answer questions from the public.
A panel hearing where all issues will be discussed is set for August 21.
