An adventurous cat has managed to keep all nine lives intact after MFB firefighters rescued her from a tricky situation.
The kitty, a domestic short hair named Puss, lodged herself in a four centimetre gap between two brick walls on Chapman St, North Melbourne on March 13.
Firefighters were alerted to the distressed cat when neighbours heard her crying out for help about 5am.
When they arrived on scene, they found Puss stuck between a house and a neighbouring property.
Her owners said she got stuck chasing a rat down the side of the unit.
The firefighters used special equipment to carefully cut away part of the unit’s wall to free the tired, hungry and scared cat.

MFB Commander Paul Eckholdt said the complex rescue went perfectly.
“It’s not every day that we get called to a cat rescue, but this particular call just goes to show our crews are well-equipped to handle whatever situation comes their way,” he said.
“We know how important pets are in people’s lives, and where we can we’ll do whatever it takes to help reunite them safely with their owners.”
Lort Smith Animal Hospital Vets were also on scene to help with the rescue mission, keeping Puss nice and calm while the MFB firefighters freed the frightened feline.
She was immediately taken to the animal hospital and is now back home after making a full recovery.
