COULD this be the new soundtrack of the west?

Furniture king and western suburbs icon Franco Cozzo has updated his image with a new jingle for his “Footiscray” store.

The 18-second video, posted on his Facebook account, sees an enthusiastic 82-year-old Cozzo belt out the new jingle which is sung to the tune of “Funiculì, Funiculà”.

A local icon for more than 50 years recently made waves when he put his Footscray furniture store on the market, before announcing on Facebook a few weeks later that he was staying put.

His late night TV advertisements were the talk of the town in the 1980s while he was the subject of an Italian song by Tony Cursio in the 1980s.
