Redevelopment of the former Little Saigon Market site is finally complete, three years after the Footscray institution went up in flames.
The once-bustling 2500sq m site has been renamed Paisley Market, and will house 20 vendors including a fresh produce market, a deli and butcher, an Asian groceries store, and food stalls.
Food market Little Saigon ran the site until an electrical fault sparked a fire, causing extensive damage.

Fitzroys property manager Terence Yeh said western suburbs shoppers now had to travel to Sunshine or St Albans for Asian groceries.
“The time is right to reintroduce this market to Footscray,” he said.
It aims to attract shoppers from Flemington, Sunshine, Maribyrnong, Kensington, Seddon and Yarraville.
“Markets have always been a big part of Footscray,” Mr Yeh said.
“We’ve noticed bars, cafes and other food operators have started opening up around Barkly and Albert streets — the area is becoming very lively.”
Paisley Market, expected to open later this year, has a 20-year lease.
The property owners are Footscray Plaza developer Banco Group and the Victor Smorgan Group.
