An internet-famous pooch has lent a paw to animals injured in Australia’s bushfire crisis.
More than $6000 has been raised in a GoFundMe started by Axle the fidget-spinning staffy and his Sunbury owner Belinda Shipp.
Donations will be split between Warriors for Wildlife, Koalas in Care, Wildlife Victoria and the Mallacoota Wildlife Shelter.
“It was just heartbreaking to watch what’s going on, and to see the struggling wildlife who had been killed or injured,” she said.
The fidget-spinning pooch, who boasts more than 11,000 Instagram followers, first rose to viral fame in 2017.
He’s spent the past few years booking appearances and starring in South American Pizza Hut ads.

Ms Shipp was inspired to act after seeing “heart-wrenching” scenes on TV.
“There’s going to be a lot of time and funds needed for this recovery,” she said.
It’s estimated half a billion animals have been killed in fires across Australia since September.
“Animals have no voice, so we have to speak up for them,” she said.
“Even $5 or a bandage donated can make a difference.”
