A decade of memories rolled off for a good cause when Dugald Macdougall donated his car to charity.
Mr Macdougall and his wife Caitlin handed over their 2001 Nissan Pulsar to Kids Under Cover’s Donate Your Car program last week.
The car will be auctioned off to support the charity in combating youth homelessness.
Mr Macdougall, a youth worker, said the Pulsar had been a part of his relationship with his wife for 10 years and he had even learned how to drive in it.
“My wife bought it because she needed a new car and she had it for more than ten years,” he said.

The Brunswick man said a golf ball that somehow found its way inside the door of the vehicle used to roll around whenever it handled corners, but otherwise the car was still running smoothly.
Kids Under Cover chief executive Jo Swift said donating a car to the charity could easily be done online.
“Donations like this assist us in providing physical support, including building relocatable studios for young people to live in while remaining connected to family and support networks,” she said.
While he was a little saddened to see his memories drive away, Mr Macdougall said he was pleased the car would help others.
“It will be sad to see it go but we’re happy that it’s going to a good cause,” he said.
“It’s the end of a chapter.”
