Rescuers from the Macedon Ranges Wildlife Network have thanked the public for “lifting a huge burden”.
The network was flooded with help after putting out a public call, supported by Macedon Ranges Leader, for pouches to keep orphaned animals warm.
Network rescuer Mel Fraser said the group was inundated with more than 120 pouches.
“It was amazing to see the community involvement and the support,” she said.
Ms Fraser said the pouches would be used over and over again, particularly coming into winter.

“When an injured or orphaned animal comes into our care, they come out of their mother’s pouch and into one of ours,” she said.
“It’s their bed. It becomes their little home and safety net while they’re with us.”
Ms Fraser said group members wanted to thank everyone.
“ They’ve taken a huge burden off us by helping us with the pouches we desperately need,” she said.
