A Mildura woman has kicked a police officer in the groin in an attempt to escape arrest as part of a meth-fuelled crime stint.

Sharleigh Tuthill, 29, pleaded guilty to firearm charges and assaulting the police officer in the Ringwood Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Police went to Tuthill’s Mildura home on July 9 to arrest her.

When she answered the door Tuthill muttered “f--k this” before pushing the officer and kicking him in the groin in an attempt to avoid being arrested.

Her escape attempt was not successful.

Tuthill also pleaded guilty to an incident in December where she was busted with a sawn off double barrel shotgun and ammunition in her car.

Tuthill and a co-accused drove to a victim’s home — with the gun — to recoup payment for a meth deal.

The co-accused stole the victim’s car and drove away, with Tuthill following him in her blue Holden Commodore.

She was arrested in a takeaway food shop in Mildura.

During a search of her car police found the gun and ammunition, which Tuthill admitted was hers.

The court heard Tuthill moved to Vermont South after she was bailed and had plans to enter into a residential rehab facility to address her drug addiction.

A glowing reference from her boss at the Boulevard Motor Inn where she worked as a housekeeper was also presented to the magistrate.

Her sentence was deferred to August 11 for her to complete the rehab stint.
