An 18-year-old Mildura woman is accused of stabbing a man in a fight over an ice pipe before allegedly taking part in an aggravated carjacking just days later.

Ryleigh Doyle fronted Mildura Magistrates’ Court seeking bail on charges, including intentionally causing serious injury and aggravated carjacking.
Police alleged she stabbed a man at a Hawthorn Gr address in Mildura, yelling, “got him, bub,” before hitting him with an extended baton.

The court heard the altercation began when Ms Doyle’s co-accused allegedly punched the man multiple times before asking for her help.

Police claimed Ms Doyle then pulled a pocket knife from her jeans and stabbed the man in the back. The alleged victim ran down the street shouting, “I’ve been stabbed,” before she allegedly struck him with the baton.

Just days later, Ms Doyle was allegedly involved in an aggravated carjacking, brandishing a gun.

The alleged victim of the carjacking, who recognised her, told police, “I knew her before the drugs; she was a good girl.”

The car, a gold Toyota Camry, was eventually found by NSW police near an abandoned caravan park in Buronga.

Police eventually captured Ms. Doyle and her co-accused hiding in the trunk of a different car on Benetook Ave after what detective Senior Constable Shaun Godfrey called “essentially a three-hour siege.”

The court heard that when Ms Doyle was questioned by police she made admissions in her recorded interview to being part of the attack that saw the man stabbed.

“It was all fine until that c---sucker started arguing about his pipe, then I pumped him a couple of times,” it was alleged Ms Doyle said to police.

When pressed on what that meant exactly, it was claimed Ms Doyle said, “What do you think? I stabbed him a couple of times.”

When it came to the alleged carjacking, Ms Doyl allegedly told police, “Get some evidence and then ask me”.

The court also heard Ms Doyle had been using meth and cannabis for five years. Sen-Constable Godfrey said, “If released on bail, I believe she will keep using drugs and continue to offend.”

Ms Doyle’s lawyer Peter Delorenzo told the court Ms Doyle was too vulnerable, both in appearance and age, to be sent to an adult remand centre.

Mr Delorenzo asked Magistrate Patrick Southey to adjourn the bail application so Ms Doyle could be assessed by youth justice and her mother’s Lakes Entrance address could be assessed for suitability for a bail address.

Mr Southey adjourned the bail application for a youth justice assessment, noting, “It sounds like she is completely and utterly out of control.”

Ms Doyle’s bail application will resume on December 2.
