A Merbein woman burst into tears as the summary of her alleged offending was read out in court.
Paula Philp appeared from remand on alleged aggravated burglary and theft charges on Wednesday at Mildura Magistrates’ Court.
The court heard that on March 28, Ms Philp and her co-accused arrived at the alleged victim’s Mildura address after a storage shed belonging to one of the co-accused was broken into.
The accused persons believed the occupant of the house was responsible.
While at the address, the occupant of the house was allegedly assaulted in front of her two young children.
Police also claim that a Guess handbag was allegedly stolen from the address with $80 inside it.
It was during the reading of this summary that Ms Philp burst into tears.
Ms Philp denied to police being involved in the alleged assault and the theft.
It was also alleged on March 30 Ms Philp was involved in another burglary. On this occasion, two sets of car keys and bank cards were allegedly stolen.
When police spoke to Ms Philp about the latter incident, she claimed she didn’t remember any offending, as she was high on methylamphetamine and GHB.
Ms Philp was granted bail under strict conditions, including an order not to associate with any persons involved in her alleged crimes.
Her next appearance at Mildura Magistrates Court is set for July 3.
